MIND-BODY-BREATH Birth Classes

​Connect to your innate birthing wisdom and align your mind, body, and breath to experience birth from a centered and intuitive place!

With the support of your partner, build a personalized practice during pregnancy that eases you into a balanced, peaceful, and instinctual birth. These classes integrate the most powerful tools birthing persons are using for birth -  movement and positioning, breathing, mindfulness and meditation, hypnosis, and Spinning Babies (maternal and fetal positioning).

Get your questions about pregnancy and birth answered while learning what comfort tools are best for you as an unique individual. Through the classes you will gain a deep understanding of the power of the mind and how to best utilize it during labor, as well as your body’s amazing anatomy and physiology.

Partners get hands on experience easing discomfort and relaxing you, building a toolkit they can draw on for pregnancy and labor. An entire 1.5 hr module is dedicated to teaching partners massage!

Regardless of where you plan to birth or what your ideal birth is, this class meets each couple where they are and guides them to find the strength and confidence that is within us all.

Some of the specific areas of focus will include:


  • Movement, positions, yoga poses, partner support, and Spinning Babies techniques
  • Breathing practices
  • Massage and the science of touch for pregnancy and labor 
    
  • iRest Yoga Nidra guided meditation and visualization
  • Self and guided hypnosis to attain deep relaxation
  • Connecting with baby
  • Working with fear and anxiety
 
  • Anatomy and physiology of birth - understanding physiologic birth and brain waves
  • Stages of Labor
  • Positions for a gentle pushing stage
  • Addressing special cases like VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), breech, transverse (sideways position), back labor, posterior positioning
 
  • Educating and empowering partners to support the pregnant person
  • Creating your birth preferences and understanding interventions
  • Placenta birth and uses
  • What humans need in the first hours after birth
  • Postnatal health and understanding hormones

Megan has passionately supported hundreds of families prepare for birth - as a childbirth educator, prenatal yoga teacher, and birth and postpartum doula. She brings ancient birthing wisdom, years of experience and training, an insatiable researcher’s mind, as well as her own birth experiences to her classes. She loves supporting families in her community as they prepare for the life-changing experience of birth!

Individual Mind-Body-Breath Birth 4-Week Series 


For birthing persons only, this 4-week series will focus on empowerment and connecting to your inner wisdom about birth. We will explore poses, movements, and breathing techniques that are optimal for different stages of birth. Over the course of this series we will use guided meditation and simple self-hypnosis to build a solid practice you can take with you through your pregnancy and into birth.

This experience-focused series will help you understand how to work with your own anatomy and physiology. You will find natural ways to connect with your baby and start building your relationship before the dance of birth begins. You will practice powerful skills that help you relax, ease discomfort, and feel ownership of your pregnancy and birth experience. 

This class is designed for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters and would be most powerful if started after 20 weeks. You will end the series with a personalized practice to continue throughout the remaining weeks of your pregnancy. This class is excellent for first timers, experienced birthers, VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean), twins, and those healing from past birth traumas. 

Birth is a deeply personal, life-changing event. You already have the wisdom, power, and strength within you, and this series will help you tap into this vast well!

Private Instruction
Depending on your needs, a private series is generally 2-4 sessions, with homework and self-study as a part of your practice. Each private session is $150 for 2-hours, with or without your partner. Email Megan for more information or to schedule.

​Generally I travel to your home and bring props with me, but I also have studio space available if you prefer.

I currently offer 1-hour private sessions for individuals in West Seattle and Burien for $75. This includes a written class description and relevant drawings, or other materials depending on the class.
